High-impact entrepreneurship, also called transformative entrepreneurship (Lerner and Schoar, 2010), is distinguished mainly by seeking not only economic profitability, but also achieving a true social impact, ensuring a positive contribution to the environment. The characterization of the organizational culture in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) plays a preponderant role for their development and consolidation, particularly when it comes to promoting in MSMEs their alignment towards high-impact entrepreneurship, since various studies have
It has been shown that the traits of organizational culture are decisive for the success or failure of companies. This proposal, made with the support of the National Institute of the Entrepreneur, promotes the development of an organizational culture study applied to a sample of 80 MSMEs located in the region known as: Valle del Mezquital, in the State of Hidalgo, Mexico; whose socioeconomic and cultural context is special, since it has more than 30% of the indigenous population that, in addition to having deep-rooted customs inherited from a past and present of economic poverty, presents a unique migratory phenomenon towards the United States.
The purpose of the study is to determine the type of dominant organizational culture in the framework of the model of Cameron and Quinn (1999) and to identify, through the adaptation of a diagnostic model and the application of data collection tools, which are the cultural elements that favor or limit the existence of high-impact ventures in the MSMEs of this region and, based on the results, propose a set of strategies that allow promoting this type of venture, thus contributing to the economic and social development of the Valley of the Mezquital.
