The strategic innovation matrix (MEI) in the analysis of the external situation for two agricultural social enterprises: the cases of Sonora and Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

The social company is an alterna-tive that could operationalize a development policy based on the promotion of human welfare; ac-cording to some authors (Burlás-tegui, 2013) and (Yunnus, 2008), it works as an inclusive organiza-tional structure, promoting eco-nomic income and employment. Although workers are co-owners, these companies outlined their corporate strategy and innovation as key to competitive performan-ce, as do traditional businesses. The aim of this paper is to analyze the behavior of relevant external variables that affect the operation of these businesses; through the implementation of the technique proposed by (Aguilar, 1967) of the PEST (Political-legal, Economic, Socio-cultural and Technological) matrix. For this, two examples of social companies producing toma-to export to US markets, which have differentiated greenhouse technology and different organi-zational arrangements.
