Abstract

In this work, the characteristics and contributions concerning with the different concepts, classifications and models of innovation are exhaustively analyzed. A descriptive and documentary research was carried out by analyzing the scientific production registered in the Web of Science, in the period between 1980 to 2017, showing that the subject of innovation has evolved, generating new lines of research and that it continues being a topic of interest to the scientific community.
